Ben's right about compiling with the latest SDK. I also recommend testing your application under Palm OS Emulator 3.5 with the Palm OS 4.1 debug ROM and all of the debugging options enabled. You can find a lot of bugs this way.

No. You just need to follow good programming guidelines, and your application can work on everything from the original Pilot 1000 to the current Tungsten T3. I would recommend using the most recent Palm OS SDK, currently 5.0R3, just to make sure that you're building your application using the strict headers that prevent disallowed structure access.
