I found a possible bug in Palm OS Cobalt simulator.
Environment Palm OS Simulator 6.0.1.0 Debug version ( in PODS 1.0 beta) ROM: Simulator_Full_jaJP_Debug.rom PRC file: doc format database with Japanese name included
Error1
when drag .prc file to Simualtor, it reports ".....\aboutjdocr.prc could not be loaded. The following error condition was reported: dmErrCorruptDatbase"
Error2
DmCreateDatbaseFromImage returns error 0x203(parameter error). PRC file is same as one in error1
These error doesn't occur in Release version.
The PRC database format doesn't allow characters outside the range 0x20-0x7E in database names. The debug version of Palm OS 6 is enforcing this limitation, while the release version lets this error go by without complaining.
