I'm well aware of the OS4 emulator, but I wasn't sure if the Bluetooth addon for OS4 was 100% compatible with the built-in Bluetooth library in OS5. Also, I thought it would be more productive to test on something which looked/worked vaguely like the real device, so that I can do things like take up all the screen space, such that my application doesn't end up looking "so last year." *cough* like most others *cough* :-) > Also you must know this useful page if you do anything with bluetooth on Palm. > http://www.whizoo.com > > >so I guess this equates to Palm not caring for > > developers in general. *grumble* > > > Is it becoming a trend to add this line to the post? or you expect > folks from palm(source) would reply for your grumble? ;) I don't know if it's a trend, because I'm new here. I was just reflecting on a weekend's investigation. It would be nice to see more tools targeting Linux, especially because of the screwed-up system we currently have, where PODS is built in Eclipse, and prc-tools, and Cygwin (to simulate *nix), but is bundled for Windows only. Hell, I even have an ARM compiler on my Linux box already, for compiling apps for the GBA, so why can't I make use it of that for the Palm? And don't get me started on having to run Cygwin on Windows. My Windows is already running under VMware, and I didn't boot VMware in order to run *nix on Windows on Linux. :-) Who knows, someone out there is probably hard at work getting these tools to work natively rather than though various compatibility layers... but until then, I guess I'll have to live with the delightfully antique OS4 emulator. :-/ TX -- 'Every sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic' - Arthur C Clarke 'Every sufficiently advanced magic is indistinguishable from technology' - Tom Graves Email: Trejkaz Xaoza <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Web site: http://xaoza.net/trejkaz/ Jabber ID: [EMAIL PROTECTED] GPG Fingerprint: 9EEB 97D7 8F7B 7977 F39F A62C B8C7 BC8B 037E EA73 -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
