Well, I don't have concrete data, but any value will decrease battery consumption. On my m515, you can audibly hear the processor, and calling EvtGetEvent with any timeout value (even 1) produces a mostly-off tone, instead of always on.
What basically matters is the time you wait compared to the time it takes between one EvtGetEvent returning and the next one starting. -- Tim Kostka "Robert Hildinger" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Greetings All, > > I was just wondering if anyone had any concrete data on the usage of > timeout values in EvtGetEvent with regards to saving battery life. > Specifically, what kind of values need to be specified in the EvtGetEvent > call to enable the processor to mode to an idle state and conserve power. > Does it have to be evtWaitForever to have any real effect, or can you use > values lower than that, even down into the 10 millisecond range to gain > any battery-life benefit? > > Thanks! > -Robert Hildinger > rh_public AT mobilevoodoo DOT com > > > > -- For information on using the Palm Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
