We were talking a lot about this problem in the past, but PalmSource did not
show any interest. Now they suggest that apps being launched from the card
automatically unregister themselves - they call it a solution!!! Who cares
about the large group of users that can handle this situation using 3rd
party launchers?

I consider the whole registration process as a very weak Palm area. It is
not only this bug (that should have been patched a long time ago), but also
total lack of any regulations that often leads to a user frustration. I
wrote several times about this problem, so here is just one example -
PalmOne Photos: Due to its registration policy this app basically cannot
peacefully coexist with any other viewer.

If you want a tool that can repair the prefs error, then use Resco Explorer.
I guess, there are no other tools around that would do it. (This is also
very strange given that this bug cannot be cured even with the hard reset.)

I've seen this crash repeatedly during HotSync on my T3 and always
thought some third-party app had a bug handling the HotSync launch
codes.

Now it turns out this is a serious bug in the exchange manager. But
instead of PS fixing it, the suggestion is we shall all add some coding
to our apps to clean up the exchange manager preferences database!

Are third party developers now officially responsible for bringing OS
patches to the customer?
