This has been going on for a few weeks now. There is a user that has every
post sent to his inbox. First this isnt a good idea since there is over 100
posts a day. His inbox has reached its quota and everytime I send a post i
get a message back saying his inbox is full (why should I care about his
inbox status?). Im guessing im not the only one getting these. He clearly
isnt using the forum since the inbox the messages go to has been full for a
few weeks. Is there anyone that can remove him from the forum? It would be
better to get ahold of him and tell him to not use his inbox for the forum,
but that is clearly not possible since his inbox is full! IMHO, It would be
nice to force all users to use a newgroup client to view the posts so things
like this cant happen, along with the very anyoing "out of office" replies
that are sent out to anyone that makes a post when someone has this setting
turned on. I dont know if it is possible to restrict users to use a
newsgroup client, like the newsgroup section of outlook express, but it
would be nice, and it would get rid of these types of messages getting sent
back to the person that makes a post.
Scott, since it is always from the same person, can't you have your mail
program filter out those messages automatically to junk? But I agree
that once a member has shown bad e-mail etiquette so that their messages
keep bouncing back to everyone with "I'm out of the office...." stuff
then perhaps their e-mail notifications could be suspended until they
logon fully and restart them. That would likely eliminate the majority
of the problem without being overly aggressive. Personally, I like
getting these forum messages as e-mail. Bob.
