I realise that it's a gray area, but I'm thinking that this at least would allow us to gradually improve the robustness of the simulator as a debugging tool, although it depends on PalmSource being willing to apply resources to those bug reports.
You're not likely to see any new releases of Palm OS Garnet simulators. Unless there's another Garnet OS release, that code base is frozen. The last Garnet release was 5.4 in early 2004 -- the 5.4.x releases are just updates to that code base for specific feature requests or bug fixes from licensees. From my understanding, almost all engineering resources at PalmSource are devoted to either Palm OS for Linux or working on licensee projects.
The best route for requesting changes is through the Palm OS Developer Suite feedback system. The PODS team was driving a few simulator changes when I left, but I don't know if that version ever got officially built and qualified for release.
