It all depends.
You will get tons of answers, and there will be warring factions over this
one. You have in essence asked a religious question.
It depends on what you want to do with it, how much time you want to spend
learning the ins and outs of the programming environment, how much money you
want to spend, whether you want to use the product with the biggest track
record (CW) or the one that is actually from the manufacturer and therefore
maybe (big maybe) more likely to be kept up to date with the ever changing
OS (PODS). For occasional programming (and for large projects too) CASL can
be effective, and if you want to avoid C/C++ then George Henne's Basic or
HB++ would be reasonable.
You can accomplish the same ends using virtually any of these. Do you like
blue walls or green? Which language is better - English or Spanish? No
solid answer.
