Hi People, I don't think that they will do it for a long time-at least not in Europe. Here, we have the HTC Magician selling for 50 bucks with Contract from T-Mobile. Almost all carriers run HTC stuff, but don't have any PalmOne stuff which they believe to be "unstable in terms of hardware quality"(quote from T-Mobile clerk). PalmOne was the only real PalmOS phone maker (sorry QOOL, but where can a regular person get your stuff???). Migrating leads to loss of all the software,... . But now, if I dislike my Windows Mobile Treo, I can just get a HTC and keep the software and the infrastructure. So, I believe that this will burn a lot of $$$, but not really help the company on long-term! A longer version of this post is available here: http://tamspalm.blogspot.com/2005/09/treo-700w-why-i-beleive-that-it-will.ht ml Best regards and thanks in advance for talkback Tam Hanna http://www.tamoggemon.com
