i have a signed copy of codewarrior v9 - which was sent to be when
it was released (i suspect for pilrc integration). i've never used it -
i wonder how much it'll fetch on ebay *g*

its really difficult as a beginner to know where to start these days..

codewarrior = was official, now abandoned
prc-tools = always been for the "hacker at heart"
PODS = new official - but, not complete to be 100% useful.

ARM compiling gets even better - especially since it took a while
for codewarrior/prc-tools to integrate their own; so, there are also
many home-brew cross-compiled variants out there..

palmos development has never been so much fun! :)
