True.  The only downside I know is that if the user has installed FontSmoother, 
layout will be neater if all the metrics are done at native resolution, since 
FontSmoother fonts don't need to have even width, and I also think that laying 
things out in native coordinates (not double density!) will work better on the 
1.5 resolution devices.

Returning double the pixel width when in kCoordinatesDouble mode is exactly 
right, since in kCoordinatesDouble mode, the coordinates are relative to a 
144DPI coordinate system.
