Well from everything I've heard - there is no clear direction as to what to do about development environment and target hardware. IF you're programming for one of the big platforms you get the .Net package or XCode or Eclipse or something and just start digging in. The fact that the Palm turf is a relative niche and doesn't support the big bux development investment that the larger systems fund and enjoy.

Then there's this diffuse fog about what will be the dominant software, never mind hardware manufacturer. So I wanted to chime in one last time and thank everyone who added to the dialog about the state of the Palm situation.

BTW - this list is chock full of obviously smart people and I sure hope it doesn't go away. There's a very accomplished community of programmers and contributors who make it a great read, every day.
