Hi, as of now, I wouldn't start developing for the Palm OS anymore. Obviously, the API set is great and simple, however, with the future of the OS as unsure as it is now, still learning he Garnet API is a pointless and futile thing. Way too much risk involved compared to PocketPC.
Dear Friends, I am on vacation and VersaMail cant handle the longer digest volumes(so I prolly wont be able to respond to everything), we got to face the situation. The future of the OS is unsure, an insider has informed a collegue of mine that there will be no more highend Palm OS PDA's, LG doesnt look like itll still run a machine either. IMHO, the time has come to say Buona Notte to the Palm OS and look at a new venture. OSSes come and go(staistically, every ten years); and its time to evaluate again. I'll still code for the Palm OS for a few more months, but the signs have become clear for me. Garnet is almost DEAD... Best regards Tam Hanna P.s. Palm's policy of not adressing rumors doesnt quite help either... . If Palm wants to keep its Developers alive, they IMHO must give us a clear outlook at the roadmap. -- For information on using the PalmSource Developer Forums, or to unsubscribe, please see http://www.palmos.com/dev/support/forums/
