Actually no, I'm not referring to remote desktop. As you put it, I'm interested fast performance and using few resources. For example, I could use a Palm to ssh into a Linux box using WiFi. However, I'm looking at hiding that type of functionality behind a simplistic front-end. I would compare what I want to create, to that of an iPod: display a list of files and allow the user to select one to "play".
