According to the "Palm PluggedIn Program News - Issue No. 12" email which I received yesterday:
"The Phone Application on the Treo 680 has been updated to version 3.0. This update features a redesigned multiple-view user interface that integrates the Main, Dial Pad, Favorites, Contacts, and Call Log views. Phone Application 3.0 has been rewritten in ARM code, while previous versions were in 68k. Please refer to the Palm OS Platform Developer Guide for full details." Perhaps this is related to the crash you are seeing.
