You cannot remove portage after installing paludis, it's needed for too many things.
The work around is to re-install portage but still use paludis. __________________ David Pyke Manager, Market Research Canadian Standards Association 416-747-2332 416-401-6945 (Fax) Please consider the environment before printing this email Merci de tenir compte de l’environnement avant d’imprimer ce courriel -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Robert Annessi Sent: September 16, 2008 7:46 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [paludis-user] Installing java software: No module named portage_dep Hi! I recently switched from portage-2.1.44 to paludis-0.30.0 and have a problem installing java software (eg app-misc/freemind, dev-java/xpp3 or possibly any other java software). Obviously it's missing the modules from portage in /usr/lib/portage/pym/ (I removed portage). After installing portage it works as expected. Is this a known behaviour? Are there any workarounds?
