If you use everything instead of world, it will solve the problem. world only affects the packages specifically listed in the world file.

The problem is that paludis won't bump that package as part of -i world (or universe), potentially leaving your system with known security issue. I've been working around by it by running paludis -r and re-installing packages that are have the error "No longer exists in original repositories 'gentoo'" which will perform the bump. The most recent package that I've noticed with this issue is dev-java/sun-jdk:1.5. I *think* it's only an issue with slotted packages, I couldn't find a bug report, and google was no help either. Is this is a bug? or perhaps there's a non-obvious command line option that I need to use to get these packages bumped automatically?
