i'm searching for documentation on how to interpret the output of Paludis, i
see http://paludis.pioto.org/faq/operation.html#arrows

Some additional things i'd like to know, for example:

~ # paludis --query app-text/djvu
* app-text/djvu
    gentoo:                  3.5.19 3.5.20-r1 3.5.21 (3.5.21_p20090103)K
{:0}
    installed:               3.5.21* {:0}
    Description: DjVu viewers, encoders and utilities.
    Homepage:                http://djvu.sourceforge.net
    License:                 GPL-2
    Installed time:          Fri Feb 13 18:13:47 2009
    Use flags: (-debug) (-doc) (jpeg) (-kde) (nls) (nsplugin)
(qt3) (threads) (tiff) (xml) linguas: (-cs) (-de) (en) (fr) (-ja) (-zh)
    From repositories:       gentoo
    Installed using:         paludis-0.34.0

Key to mask reasons:

* K: keyword

What are the parentheses around the most recent version ? What is that "K"
next to it ? At the bottom it offers "K: keyword", but i'm not making sense
of it.
Also, what are those {:0} ? What's the asterisk suffixing the installed
version number ?

Looking at a second sample, things are a bit different: the "~" keyword is
now the one between parentheses, that doesn't seem consistent with the
previous example. Is it because i have "media-gfx/fontypython x86 ~x86" in
my keywords.conf ?

 ~ # paludis --query media-gfx/fontypython
* media-gfx/fontypython
    gentoo:                  0.3.6(~) {:0}
    installed:               0.3.6* {:0}
    Description:             Font preview application
    Homepage:                http://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/fontypython
    License:                 GPL-3
    Installed time:          Wed Sep 24 04:55:53 2008
    Use flags:
    From repositories:       gentoo
    Installed using:         paludis-0.26.0_alpha14

Key to mask reasons:

* ~: keyword (unstable accepted)

Now in the Linux world, i sure do miss some standard features of the IBM
mainframe documentation, such as the "Interpreting Output" sections in the
manuals. Maybe some day i'll find the energy and the talent to enhance the
Linux documentation. But things don't look too promising: it's been years
and it hasn't happened yet.

Thanks again for Paludis, though

Jerome Potts.
