Ok, I see. But maybe it will be reasonably to add some information about updates.rb and profiles/update/* into Paludis FAQ? For example: "Please check profiles/update/* and run updates.rb if there is new update file".
Otherwise how the user will know he need to update VDB? For example: I spent about two evenings to find solution for problem with updating "everything" set. Thanks python-updater and my mistake (I have forgot "-P paludis") due python-updater has run "emerge -p". Thank you. -- Sergey Zolotorev On Tue, Apr 21, 2009 at 5:21 PM, Ciaran McCreesh <[email protected]> wrote: > On Tue, 21 Apr 2009 14:28:43 +0400 > Sergey Zolotorev <[email protected]> wrote: >> So question is what user should to do when Gentoo guys have placed >> some new update files into "/usr/portage/profiles/update/*"? >> >> I have seen in Paludis Trac short post about experemental update.rb >> script but there is no any information about this script in Paludis >> FAQ or installation guide. > > We currently ignore updates and expect you to solve them by hand.
