Paola, Sometime ago there was a similar discussion on this list. Some people stated that they used scissors for most of their cutting rather than doing it all with the Exacto or other brands of knifes.
I have since tried this and I actually prefer to use the scissors for most of the cutting. I have 3 pair one regular Fiscars brand with about 4 inch long blades, one smaller pair with about a 2 inch blade that is much thinner and pointed (came from a beauty supply place for cutting hair) and another small pair that has a curve in the blade thin pointed blade about 1.5 inch long. I leave the detail cuts for the knife such as where corners meet on an internal cut or for tiny pieces that are just too hard to hold and cut with scissors. The other trick that was passed on was to move the paper not the scissors when cutting.
