OK, I claim Senior Moment! Maybe I'm showing my age but I consider a cut lip "trivial" as opposed to the CSI example of one's innards spewed across somebody else's shirt. Yeah, that was unrealistically abstract violence, but TOS was the opposite abstract; point an objet d' art "weapon" at someone, sound effect ensues, victim drops or disappears tracelessly. OTOH at least one TOS ep showed any sort of "cell damage" as lethal... Mark L.
