The Rat Rod craze was my salvation when it came to plastic kits. It seems the only paint color I can manage to spray without issues is flat black.
Funny Story: A few days ago, I got a call from the Census Bureau about a job, (nothing definite yet) and was discussing it with a plastic guy I know. His response to my potential employment was, "Hey, you could give up all those paper models you've been playing with and get some fresh plastic." My response was, "Or, I could save the money I would waste on plastic kits and use it to catch up my credit card bills or fix my VW." I explained that I had no intention of going back to buying more plastic just because I had some extra money, and that I genuinely enjoy paper as a medium and prefer it to plastic for most subjects. He was shocked. Poor fool.
