Michael -- My prayers are with you.  I went through some of the same thing in 
January.  I had four stones too big to pass, too big to zap, and they had to 
dig them out.  They put in a stent to keep the one blocking the ureter from 
doing that, then took me of coumadin for a month before they went in and dug 
them all out.  I am still recovering from that surgery (I already had knee 
replacement surgery and had my heart zapped back into rhythmn which didn't hold 
so now I'm on a beta blocker that doesn't quite do the job).  But I am 
recovering and thank God that I live in Rochester, Minnesota, USA and the Mayo 
Clinic is my primary care and Medicare does actually work pretty well.  The 
pain was horrendous but they were pretty good about controlling it once they 
had a diagnosis.  I wish I could ship you here!     Jenni Hulsizer
