Are we repeating the original thread here? I seem to recall that this was the original thrust of the talk when the model came out.
Anyway...I'm a Win guy, not a Mac kid. The only solutions I can offer are: 1. If there is a Mac RAR archive program then it _might_ be able to decode the exe file as a simple RAR file. 2. Waddya sayin? Doesn't the Mac have a "Win" something or other emulator that allows you to run Win apps? Seriously, I think there is a program on the Mac that will run windows apps and the RAR program is nothing special so it should run fine under an emulator. A PITA, I agree, but there you go. If things were reversed, I couldn't run a Mac app on Vista or any other version of Windows I have. 3. We need to shout out to the author here and see if we can get a simple RAR archive. IIRC, the reason for the format was that the PDF file size exceeded his upload/download limits. The resultant PDF file is 5.15 Mb. When I compress the PDF to a RAR I get a 3.3 Mb file. Zip give me 3.44 Mb. So I'm guessing neither of these gets him below a 1 Mb file size limit. Finally, what is our policy here on using private mail? I don't want to circumvent his site traffic but we don't want to let technology block getting this model getting out. So... Hey Mike! What are your thoughts here? Any chance someone could drop a note to the author (what is the native language there?) and ask what he thinks?
