One way to get rid of the splices is to print and cut two copies of the
formers then glue (laminate) to heavy card stock with the breaks in a
different location.

That's the way plywood is constructed. Then cut the heavy card stock. This
method requires cutting the frame twice - once to cut the printed copy and
then the laminated final version.

Subject: [Papermodels II 40246] UPDATE 7 1-32 Type VII U-Boat Build

Finally some more movement on the U-Boat...

Saddle Tanks 2

  _____

Trimmed out and glued up the Right Hand saddle tank pieces.

Each tank is made up of 19 pieces. Putting them together they are a little
fiddly, but in the end glue up nice and strong.
I tacked the formers together with a small drop of CA glue, followed by
Elmer's PVA. This works well when the pieces fit a little loose. Mine did
because I cut the cross openings a little wider than they should have been.

The long, horizontal formers are two-pieces each, held together with slats.

Thanks for lookin'!
