Ah yes it would not have mattered if you clicked the x to close the unwanted
program or not.  We are seeing that the X is not really a close button and
anywhere you touch that window will cause the install. We have been overrun
with this problem at work recently.

One of the easiest ways to close those windows that pop up without having to
actually touch anything that may cause the install is to hit alt and F4 this
will close any active window - yes you may end up closing all the windows
you have open but it is better than getting the nasties installed.  Next
step is to open you browser and delete the cache as that is often where they
will reside when downloaded.

One of the best free things on the net that we have found is malwarebytes to
use to uninstall many of the trojans etc.. that get installed this way.
Proactively you can download it and install it and if you get hit it is
there to use.  Often these nasties also block you access to the internet to
make it hard to get a program that will clean you system or block the
installs of new software claiming it is not compatable 32 bit application.
