One of the original questions was - did you try another monitor and cable. You said yes, but you didn't say what the outcome was... what did you see? A picture? If you didn't see a picture, you have some major problems. If you did see a picture in the new monitor, it's simply your monitor (or cable - depending on whether it's a fixed connection or not)
I had a monitor where the cable was bent. I've had a monitor where the pins in the male end were missing or also bent. If the video card slot is caput, you need to get ahold of a very old pci slot video card to try.. Yes, they will still work the pci express machines. They will at the very least able you to see the post screen, if nothing else. Which will prove that it's a slot problem. All of these other things that people are suggesting are overkill. The problem can only be in 3 places. The slot, the cable or the monitor. If it's another part of the motherboard, you won't even get to the windows loading sounds. ;) Good luck. :) Mandy PS Wish I was there to help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bones" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, December 29, 2009 3:11 PM Subject: Re: [Papermodels II 41280] OT- Ongoing computer problem > On Mon, 2009-12-28 at 20:24 -0800, Paul McCool wrote: >> Well, it looks like I wasted the $100, I spent on the video card, and >> will >> have to haul this thing down to a repair shop. &^&@)*&#!!!! >> >> Paul M. >> >> > Not much else you can do at this point Paul...computahs are > furshlugginer veeblefetzer for sure. > > Bones > > > -- > This message has been scanned for viruses and > dangerous content by MailScanner, and is > believed to be clean. > > -- > > You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups > "Papermodels II" group. > To post to this group, send email to [email protected]. > To unsubscribe from this group, send email to > [email protected]. > For more options, visit this group at > http://groups.google.com/group/papermodels?hl=en. > > -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Papermodels II" group.
