  I have the distinct feeling that our group owner/moderator is of a
similar mind, else the thread would have been terminated long ago. I
admit to following the thread in hopes a solution would be found,
partly because I fancy myself a hardware geek and not only wanted to
help, but thought I might learn something, too.

  I had thought all bases had been covered and was reduced to head-
scratching. When the solution was announced I wondered if I would have
noted the extra connection option on the monitor and tried it...

  Anyway, glad it's fixed. What a relief!
