Personally, I don't get how people are ok with putting all their
private data on a big corporations hard drive and thinking that it's
not being watched.. I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but it's just a
little bit frightening. Also, it's frighteningly slow to upload and
download, and could just all disappear in a hackers eyeblink. :s
Corporations need documents and lawyers to set up backup drives in
third party places, with security clearances etc and red tape. Who's
to say that some hacker isn't a member and once they have limited
access, the next step is a simple one to get full access to everyone
else. (I can hack your computer once you let me get my hands on the
attached keyboard.... mwa ha ha)
I'll keep it all close to my chest, thanks. ;) Cloud is just big
brother in sheeps clothing.

My reason for keeping my data onsite is the crashing problem -- the
system between them and me can go down. The Cloud is not immune to
failing, though it may take more effort. And as the earthquake in Japan
has shown, How big an earthquake or tsunami is it reasonable to plan for?
Of course, if you add humans (honest or not), Stuff Will Happen. At
least at home, I know which idiot caused or failed to prevent problem
(some folks say she looks a lot like me).
