Hi Bones, just a thought in a slightly different direction -- I've
never tried the floor-polish stuff, but I have had reasonable success
with an acrylic-type wood-finishing product from the local Home Depot
(home-maintenance place). The specific one that I used was by MinWax,
called "Polycrylic", but I imagine that any similar product would work
just as well. One nice thing about it -- you can get it as a gloss,
semi-gloss, or flat finish. Only thing is, it's fairly thick; I can't
say without having tried it, but the floor polish might soak in better
on paper. I can sympathize with avoiding that "floor polish" label,
though; someone might get ideas about what should be done with it! ;)

P.S. The rifle is looking really nice!
