Put the jpg file in a photo or drawing program and reduce the contrast and 
color density there.  Then do a test print on one page.  Lighten or darken to 
the colors you want then Save As or Export to a folder labeled Enhanced or 
similar.  Then go back and remove the changes to the original file and delete 
from the art program.  If you do not save in a separate folder then undo the 
changes, your original file can be saved with the changes as it closes and you 
lose the original data.  Works for me when I want to color shift or change the 
intensity of colors when printing parts.
