First just let me say that the PAR perl package is a godsend, I love it.
Keep up the good work guys!

I'm trying to build an exe that can utilize the LWP SSL functionality and
I've been running into a few problems. I can't install perl on each box my
program runs, so i need to ship with perl58.dll, and i'm almost ready to do
a full reinstall of activeperl (which will break tons of stuff i have in
place). All of my other functionality works. I've uninstalled
Crypt::SSLeay, and reinstalled but that had no effect.

I have a test program called https.pl

if i run `perl https.pl` everything works fine.
if i build https.exe (pp -d -M Crypt::SSLeay -o https.exe https.pl) and run
it in a directory with no perl58.dll it works fine ( i guess because it uses
the one in my PATH)
if i try to run https.exe in a dir with perl58.dll it gives me the old
"Failed: 501 Protocol scheme 'https' is not supported" error msg.

I have tried to include ssleay32.dll SSLeay.dll in CWD but it always fails
when the same perl58.dll from e:\perl\bin is in my test directory. I've
tried to use -l to link in the ssl dll's but i'm not sure if it is working.

pp  -l e:\perl\bin\libeay32.dll -l e:\perl\bin\ssleay32.dll -o https.exe
https.pl

It does not appear the the dll's are being included when using the pp -v
switch.
I'm out of ideas, anyone else have any?

https.pl

use warnings;
use strict;
use LWP::UserAgent;
use LWP::Debug qw(+);
my $url = 'https://www.verisign.com'; # should work

my $ua = new LWP::UserAgent;
print "@INC\n";
my $req = new HTTP::Request('GET', $url);
my $res = $ua->request($req);

if ($res->is_success) {
print $res->as_string;
} else {
print "Failed: ", $res->status_line, "\n";
}
