I've just uploaded version 1.30 of Compress::Zlib to CPAN. I finally bit the
bullet and included the zlib source with it. By default it build using its
personal copy of zlib.

I expect there will be a bit of work on some of the more obscure platforms
before I'd class this as stable, so don't rely on it just yet.
