Michael, sorry for the much, much belated reply, but as
I am going to release PAR 0.81, I'd like to know whether
it works for you now... I remember fixing this bug for
Perl 5.6.x, but I had not been able to duplicate it in
Perl 5.8.x.

I'd be very grateful if you can help testing the snapshot
in http://p4.elixus.org/snap/PAR.tar.gz and let me know if
it works or not.
