Hi,

Ouch. You are right. I have 23 of them just from today with the new
version 0.960 I installed today. I had been using an older par, from
maybe a year ago, and I see no orphaned parl*.exe files except from
today's new 0.960. All such files are in my ...\Local
Settings\par-user\cache.... directory
I suppose those stem from the tests.
I was going to write a flame in the direction of "Windows sucks", but
really, this turns out not to be related to Windows.
Back when I wrote the parl-regen stuff, I took care that the temporary
files are deleted on Windows. The simplest (tempfile(UNLINK=>1))
approach didn't work out IIRC. But if you add a debug print statement to
PAR::PACKER::DESTROY, you'll see that it deletes most parl's during the
tests alright. It just keeps a series of small, ~ 60kb parl's somewhere
between tests 30 and 34. I have since verified this on linux, too.
I haven't yet fixed the problem.
