Which build of ActivePerl are you using?
perl -e"print Win32::BuildNumber() . qq(\n)"
The 'PAR-Packer-0.976-MSWin32-x86-multi-thread-5.8.8.par' is built against
ActivePerl build 822 and probably won't work with previous releases.
I have no idea if it is this that is causing the particular error messages you
are seeing. If you can confirm the build number I will check this out.
