hello folks,
Curious one...pp works fine (making s/alone executables etc) on Win32, and
works fine for most of our scripts on Linux. But some of them fail with: -
[~] # ./get_rom_symbols /home/user/temp/app.xml -s=.bios
Can't locate object method "new" via package "XML::LibXML::SAX" at
XML/SAX/ParserFactory.pm line 43.
Both the working & failing scripts import the same modules (notably XML::Simple
via use XML::Simple 2.12 qw(:strict); ).
My colleague got everything working...but needed to rebuild perl from scratch
in order to do so - naturally we want to avoid that so we can build on any
machine.
Any ideas what might be going wrong? Some data on my environment(s)
- Win32 - Activestate Perl 5.8.8 + CPAN PAR::Packer (anyone know if there's a
5.8 distro that has PAR::Packer built in?)
- linux - Redhat Enterprise Linux 4 (RHEL4) w/ GNU make 3.8 via VmWare 5 + CPAN
PAR::Packer.
Its quite possible that something is missing in my linux PAR::Packer install -
had some permission installs w/ root/user en-route, which I believe I fixed
but...
Many thanks indeed for any insight you can provide.
cheers, Alan
