That should report g++, though I think it's going to report ld. Something is screwy in Config. I recall something like this with build 817 (or thereabouts) of ActivePerl. Better just give us the entire output of 'perl -V' and be done with it :-) You should be getting the same problem with other perl extensions, not just Par::Packer. Cheers, Rob
