r33967 build succeeds for me on Ubuntu Intrepid, x86-64 with --optimize.
Make test also succeeds with no failures. Haven't tried a make fulltest
with it though (doing that now).
Are there any other variables that could explain this problem? Are we sure
this is still an issue, ~200 commits after it was reported?
