Wow, quite a nice patch! Some of the things you mentioned (allocating
pmc->data from fixed-size pools) is already being worked on in the
auto_attrs branch. The GC_INF collector *should* work, although it is know
(and expected) to fail a handful of tests. I can run some tests on that
core with your patch applied to make sure nothing funny happens in that
case.
Also, I'd be happy to hear any ideas about how you think we should split
up functions in the various files.
