Hi Brian,

I just found the hfsplus-tools package on Fedora [1] so it looks like Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, and openSUSE all have mkfs.hfs AND mkfs.hfsplus.

I agree.  I think making the switch to hfs+ for the tests should be okay.
