Just found this which might fit the bill:
"With the console interface tool WinSCP.com you can also use
input/output redirection and pipes."

But the documentation is a bit light on the subject (CreatePipe command)
and I can't see any references to it on the command line:

So it may have to go into a script, which would have to be generated
before startup... so I guess we're back to writing a nasty BAT file anyway..
