It would be funny if someone successfully impersonated the FBI in order to 
coerce them into putting said backdoor into the product in the name of national 
security.
Bruce Schneier wrote about some NSA involvement in developing one of the crypto 
algorithm that was a finalist in one of the competitions awhile back.
