It looks like Bob is pretty comfortable with Linux. Using remastersys and perl, though the masters will recommend python, Bob can knock out his own distro in a couple of hours. Random MAC, random hostnane and random whatever else he wants. I have done it before. Doing it yourself means you can customize heavily.
