Shango Lashu, Maafurika!.

Reading from the entries made in this forum one get a dismantling
sense of loss. Its either we are too ignorant of the vices that have
lead the PAYCO and the PAC in general to a near dysfunctional state.
In engagements in this forum, one does not fail to see the impurities
that have derailed our politics into depoliticalisation of
personalities.

1. We have individuals who seem to take pride in having been
dysfunctional members of the NEC. Otherwise how do you explain a
member of the NEC who comes in this forum and take a position contrary
to the NEC on which he or she serves. Not being ignorant of whatsoever
problems our structures face, i think there are mechanism for those
holding political offices in our structures to align themselves with
the positions of their office and the structures in which they serve.

2. Politics of personalities. It seems we have lost the track of our
collective objectives as a party and as a forum. We forget that no
matter how we discredit a certain leader, he or she is still a product
of our movement. The PAC that produced the Lion Of Azani also produced
CDE Lethlapa and the same PAC produced the so called 'Julias Malema'
CDE Hulisani. Instead of attacking personalities we should be
dedicating our energies into refining systems within our organisation
that has produced the leadership with which now we are not all happy.

3. Lack of unity. i was shocked to read in the previous post one of
our combrades, noble african, take pride that in the province in which
he lives PAYCO, does not exist. If i was the one in his position such
would have been the cause of shame, for how can i explain my
membership to an organisation and fail to see that it is also my
responsibility to further the objectives of my organisation within my
very own community. The fail of PAYCO in the EC is our failure as a
collective and taking pride in that failure does not make sense at
all, politically or otherwise. This simply reflect failure to separate
our position from the positions of the organisation. The truth is
that, i have alot of issues with which i disagree with Lethlapa and
even with PAYCO, but by a mere fact of me being a member of the PAC, i
make sure my position is aligned with them, especial when i am in my
community and other public platforms. I have had a lot of questions
that i wanted CDE Lethlapa to answer but that has never made me
discredit the President of my party in platforms that would jeopardize
the need for me as a member to further the PAC agenda.

4. Reformist approach. If every time we are faced with challenges we
are going to propose the reformation of the organisation or component
strutures we may never progress as a collective. The truth is that
there will never be a leadership that will make all of us happy. Even
Sobukwe had unhappy membership at times. Instead of creating an
'Alternative' structure we need to work hard at improving our current
structure. I am happy because in PAYCO we still have democratic
mechanism of changing leadership and all that. We are the people who
make leaders and appoint them, and as such we can remove them.

Above all Maafurika, i think we need to starting engaging in
constructive communication and realize that we are not enemies, but
fellow combrades. And as much we need to align our communication
towards building and strengthening our movement, be it PAC or PAYCO as
a component struture. We need to realize that the failure of one of
our components or our national leadership as PAC and as PAYCO, is our
failure. Its our failure to produce quality leadership and its our
failure in judgement to put poor leaders in charge of our movement.

And combrades,we can crucify each other for our failures; but we must
realise that our sole responsibility is towards the African masses and
that out personality politics will not help advance the lives and
conditions of our African masses. If i say the PAC has failed or PAYCO
has failed i must also acknowldge that i have failed in my
responsibility to as a party member, because parties are not made by
their leaders.

I think for now i will leave it here and watch as to which directions
our politics go.
