Comrade Paseka I agree with you that PAYCO and PASMA should take a stand on the World Youth Festival. However i have a few issues with your post. Firstly i will not want to pass judgment, in this platform, on the quality of your comments, but rest assured that i have definite views on the quality of your posts. In this platform, we have valuable information being shared amongst comrades on an on-going basis. There are also interesting debates from time time and not only PAYCO members participates but stalwarts of the party such as yourself and Jaki Seroke, just to mention a few, put their own views across. If you have views or ideas on any issue then put your line acrosss instead of allevating yourself into a position of judge. You should also be greatful that you are able to interact with Africanists broadly, thanks to this platform. As for Mayihlome News, i, as Editor-in-Chief will be happy to receive suggestions from you on how to make the publication more effective. But again i take exception to your charge that the platform focuses on 'petty political issues'. For your information Mayihlome News publish a lecture each year, it was launched in 2009 and has published two lectures todate, inclusive of the 2010 lecture. The first lecture was delivered by Matome Mashao, a revered student, youth and party leader. His lecture focuses on the ideological foundation of the party and the shift that has taken place in the context of the political reforms of the 90's and what has since transpired socially, politically and economically since then and the paradigm shift that must take place idelogically, if the PAC were to remain responsive to material conditions and relevant to its constituency. The second lecture was delivered by Lebohang Pheko. She is respected locally and internationally within leftist circles, as a progressive policy advocate of note on economic development issues. Her lecture focused on globilisation and in particular, international trade and funding and how this perpetuates poverty and underdevelopment in Africa. She also touched on the neo-colonial nature and essence of the post-colonial Africa. On the other hand we publish articles on current political and socio-economic issues on a weekly basis. We have respected commentators who contribute these articles such as former PAYCO president Sbusiso Xaba and PAC stalwart Sam Ditshego. Sam Ditshego is one of our most prolific writer and contributes several articles in a month. So i respectfully think your charge that Mayihlome focuses on 'petty political issues' is completely unfounded and born out of ignorance. The only thing that is a concern to us is not the quality of the content but the reach of our publication. We want it to reach multitudes of readers! The current numbers are not something we can ride home about. However if you have concrete ideas, you are welcome to share with us so that we can be more effective. Lastly i want to engage you on the issue of the plight of our people. In as much as you have the right to ask what other structures are doing to highlight the plight of our people, i feel obliged to ask you the same question. I am sure you dont find comfort in just being an armchair critic. What are you doing as a revolutionary yourself to advance the cause of Pan Africanism? You are not a referee here or are you? Every structure and member has responsibilities in the organisation. The particular reponsibility your touched on is that of highlighting the plight of our people. As a member of the PAC or a PAC structure or any structure which advocates the PAC cause, share with us what your current role is in this regard. Everybody will be encouraged (and draw lessons from) and by constructive criticism that comes from those who dont only talk about revolutionary tasks but actually execute these tasks.

How on earth can a country which is struggling to pay school fees for its tertiary students, host a jamboree just for the youth kiss each other. The Charterists are accelerating the gear of looting, the youth has been targeted to deliberately confuse it. Masses have got no alternative. Shouldn't we use this sites to conscientise our youth and organise them for an action?
