Comrades Fair enough Comrades,I concede that one need not be a judge while Azania is burning. I concur with Cde. Mbara on the existence and efficiency of this platform. Big up to the initiators. But, I've got a problem with the content. Fancy being told that Cde. so-and -so was wearing a PAC T- shirt walking down Commissioner Street and I had many people shouting.'Izwe Lethu' and I use that as a test of the PAC popularity or desirability amongst the people. I am jealous about platforms of this nature if they are purely used to massage our egos and conscience, and I beg to ask : how effective are they and what impact do they have in the greater political millieu? Comrades will recall protests which engulfed Malawi recently about bread prices. Can anyone recall, how they were organised ?-through cellphones! Why can't we use this platform to change the lot of our people? Key and critical issues have been relegated to civil society organisations. Tiger Milling and Premier Foods have ripped struggling masses off by fixing bread prices, why is there not a squeal from Africanist forces?,I repeat,Lotto funding of the youth jamboree and also by the Department of Trade and Industry is a scandal not different from the Arms deal. Who should ask them to account?-Cosatu? While Africanist youth can rally all the students excluded by NSFAS to deliver a telling blow! PAWO comrades definitely know deserving charities who can make their voice heard. Earlier on i once asked Comrade Mbara as to why was PAYCO not visible in the Caster Semenya saga, not to compete with the Charterists but to show that we also care about youth in the similar situation Lastly.I'm not the one to blow my own trumpet. Currently I'm involved in a community initiative to restore normalcy at WSU(Unitra) after a prolonged strike. The PAC led that initiative,I chair the forum. We are also concerned about the lack of student governance at the WSU campusses due to the, i'm researching ways and soliciting help to resolve this.4 years ago I led the initiative to restore the Unitra Community Radio(UCR)FM into the rightful hands,I'm currently the Secretary of the Board of Trustees.I maintain an active presence with the Wild Coast communities who are victims of the mining companies,I speak on their behalf. I receive a lot from criticism from the Charterists camp, sometimes to the detriment of my business (training),purely because I put the PAC line across. I strongly believe that if we can pull our resources like these platforms to crush the current political system.Azania could be a better place for our people.Remember Uncle Zeph: 'PAC is not for mass demonstration but for MASS ACTION' Can we,Comrade Mbara, organise a Mayihlome Lecture which is going to reflect on the so-called New Growth Path,Protection of Information Bill,Chancellor House,Xenophobia looting and other crucial issues. I'm available to assist where I can. Izwe lethu Happy Kwaanza

However i have a few issues with your post. Firstly i will not want to pass judgment, in this platform, on the quality of your comments, but rest assured that i have definite views on the quality of your posts. In this platform, we have valuable information being shared amongst comrades on an on-going basis. There are also interesting debates from time time and not only PAYCO members participates but stalwarts of the party such as yourself and Jaki Seroke, just to mention a few, put their own views across. If you have views or ideas on any issue then put your line acrosss instead of allevating yourself into a position of judge. You should also be greatful that you are able to interact with Africanists broadly, thanks to this platform. As for Mayihlome News, i, as Editor-in-Chief will be happy to receive suggestions from you on how to make the publication more effective. But again i take exception to your charge that the platform focuses on 'petty political issues'. For your information Mayihlome News publish a lecture each year, it was launched in 2009 and has published two lectures todate, inclusive of the 2010 lecture. The first lecture was delivered by Matome Mashao, a revered student, youth and party leader. His lecture focuses on the ideological foundation of the party and the shift that has taken place in the context of the political reforms of the 90's and what has since transpired socially, politically and economically since then and the paradigm shift that must take place idelogically, if the PAC were to remain responsive to material conditions and relevant to its constituency. The second lecture was delivered by Lebohang Pheko. She is respected locally and internationally within leftist circles, as a progressive policy advocate of note on economic development issues. Her lecture focused on globilisation and in particular, international trade and funding and how this perpetuates poverty and underdevelopment in Africa. She also touched on the neo-colonial nature and essence of the post-colonial Africa. On the other hand we publish articles on current political and socio-economic issues on a weekly basis. We have respected commentators who contribute these articles such as former PAYCO president Sbusiso Xaba and PAC stalwart Sam Ditshego. Sam Ditshego is one of our most prolific writer and contributes several articles in a month. So i respectfully think your charge that Mayihlome focuses on 'petty political issues' is completely unfounded and born out of ignorance. The only thing that is a concern to us is not the quality of the content but the reach of our publication. We want it to reach multitudes of readers! The current numbers are not something we can ride home about. However if you have concrete ideas, you are welcome to share with us so that we can be more effective. Lastly i want to engage you on the issue of the plight of our people. In as much as you have the right to ask what other structures are doing to highlight the plight of our people, i feel obliged to ask you the same question. I am sure you dont find comfort in just being an armchair critic. What are you doing as a revolutionary yourself to advance the cause of Pan Africanism? You are not a referee here or are you? Every structure and member has responsibilities in the organisation. The particular reponsibility your touched on is that of highlighting the plight of our people. As a member of the PAC or a PAC structure or any structure which advocates the PAC cause, share with us what your current role is in this regard. Everybody will be encouraged (and draw lessons from) and by constructive criticism that comes from those who dont only talk about revolutionary tasks but actually execute these tasks. Izwelethu! T he current Youth and Student Festival is a case in point. How on earth can a country which is struggling to pay school fees for its tertiary students, host a jamboree just for the youth kiss each other. What is making a lot of noise-is the silence for those who are supposed to speak for the disadvantaged youth. Are we to suppose that our Paycos and Pasmas are in support of this looting of state resources in the name of the youth. If they are,how close are they to their constituencies. If they are not, what are they doing about that. It is unfortunate that in the situation the PAC finds itself in,its youth is not a solution. One has only got to read the input in Paycogoogles - what a turn off, the Mayihlome Lectures are not a solution either, as they are obsessed with petty political issues rather than national issues. Our youth have become paper tigers who feel that posting a comment on the internet is enough to advance the cause of Pan-Africanism. We are desecrating the memories of our heroes by quoting them out of context and do nothing about their thinking and theories. The Charterists are accelerating the gear of looting, the youth has been targeted to deliberately confuse it. Masses have got no alternative. Shouldn't we use this sites to conscientise our youth and organise them for an action?
