This has been to the detriment of labour, especially in least developed countries where governments try to avoid killing ‘the goose which lays the golden egg of investment’ by placing a higher burden on consumption and labour income. Strauss calls for a unified tax system that would ensure that international corporations are taxed in every country where they operate.
