May his soul RIP, he was a staunch Pan Afrikanist to the end. I always liked
his Scientific analysis and Philosophical positions. A true Sobukweist and
Nkrumaist in advancing and moving beyond their political thoughts in line with
the current dynamics. I advised the late TF to write a book and has agreed to
recollect all his many thought provoking papers on Pan Africanism positions.

Indeed he was in his own league ideologically, really a tower by all standards.
One is really saddened by his demise.

RIP TF.

BRIZA.

end...I'm speechless

RIP to this tireless teacher. We would hold workshops/political classes almost
daily for years. He always had a political or ideological point to ponder or
reflect on. He did this with any person, anywhere. Whether its fellow
countrymen at a bus stop waiting for transport home or a visitor to office. TF
held political dialogues with everyone, given an opportunity. He also struck me
with his knowledge of various disciplines. He was never afraid to take a
different view and always continued to challenge any established position,
view, idea, political or ideological line if he had reason to. A very engaging
person. Most of the times he would reduce his ideas in writing and ask for your
opinion. One not afraid of debate because he had a solid political and
ideological grounding. He was also well read in revolutionary theory, various
political and history literature. He could hold his own. If you were to stand
against him on any issue, you needed to know your story very well. Because of
his firm grasp of historical and dialectic materialism, and shrewd use of the
tools in debate on the Robben Island, he tells me he was often accused of being
a marxist by his fellow Africanists. However in the past few years he took on a
pure African nationalist position which fell short of addressing the social and
class question. He continued debating these questions. A lot can be said about
this gallant son of the soil.
