Hi. Well, I personally prefer to use 192kbps, 44.1 KHZ stereo, and for ripping cds I use Easy CDDA Extractor, not to be confused with Roxio Easy CD Creator. You may notice a bit of a difference if you rip your tracks at 192k rather than 128k, so give that a try just for the fun of it. It's just something *i* like to do but it's not one of those things you absolutely must do, so if you like the sound quality of 128k, stick with that. Just giving ya another alternative bitrate that a lot of peoople use. 192k is nearer to the quality of a cd than 128k is at least to *my* ear. Others will tell you different so you just have to use whichever one sounds the best to you.

Hi Chris,

I finally figured out how to convert an audio CD to mp3 format by using Easy
CD Creator version 6. Easy CD Creator version 6 have a feature that allows
you to put an audio CD into computer, gets the information from the database
with the information, under the track menu convert audio and it brings up a
dialog box in which you select what bit rates to use. I was selecting one
track and found that the conversion was very fast. I did the same thing
selecting multiple tracks and it took the original names of the other files
and I told it to use the same bit rates as the other. I was told by a
couple of people to select 128kbps for near CD quality music. At least I
didn't have to download any additional software to rip my first audio CD.

Actually, the version number is 5.03 on the new one, and the only thing different about the free version is that it restricts you to burning and ripping cds at 2 x speed, whereas the pro version doesn't have any restrictions.
